Are SIGG bottles suitable for microwave use?
The bottles must not be placed in the microwave, on a hot stove, in a hot oven or in the freezer.
Can hot water be poured into an aluminum bottle?
Aluminium is an excellent conductor of heat. This means that the temperature of the liquid is also noticeable on the outside of the
drinking bottle. We therefore recommend filling it with water at a maximum temperature of 40°C.
What liquids can I store in SIGG drinking bottles?
All SIGG drinking bottles have been tested with many different types of drinks, such as acidic drinks, carbonated drinks, milk, alcohol, apple and lemon juice, etc. However, we do not recommend leaving drinks with natural fermentation processes, such as apple juice or milk, in the bottle for long periods of time. This natural process can encourage bacterial growth and create gases and strong odors that are difficult to eliminate.
Are the water bottles leak-proof?
All SIGG caps are waterproof. But caps and seals are also subject to normal wear and tear from intensive use. We recommend not washing the bottle cap in the dishwasher, but removing it, rinsing it with hot water and letting it air dry. It is often also helpful to replace the bottle seal where possible. This is available as a spare part from retailers and in our web shop.
What is the best way to clean aluminum, glass, and plastic bottles?
For aluminum bottles: Use cleaning tablets or mild detergent; do not put in the dishwasher.
For glass bottles: Clean by hand only, no chlorine or bleach, use soft cloths/sponges.
For plastics ( e.g., Tritan, polypropylene): Although partially dishwasher safe, hand washing with a mild detergent is recommended to avoid damaging printing ink, etc.

A Design with Recognition Value
The iconic bottle design has held a permanent place in New York's Museum of Modern Art since 1993. The distinctive shape of the SIGG 1 L and 0.6 L water bottles, with their characteristically designed caps, has become an iconic image. Alongside the classic blue and red bottles, the Swiss company has expanded its range to include additional colours and patterns — collaborating with renowned fashion labels and designers such as Keith Haring for special collections.
From the Mountains to the World
Originally popular among alpinists and hikers, the water bottles were known above all for their lasting quality and complete reusability. These advantages are still highly valued today and have become a hallmark of the company. SIGG now offers, alongside its well-known aluminium bottles, a large collection of functional and stylish water bottles for every area of life.
Water Bottles for Children, Athletes and Everyone
Building on the success of the original SIGG aluminium bottle, the company has expanded its product range to include high-quality bottles made from glass, Tritan and polypropylene, always guided by its core values of sustainability and versatility. For children, there are smaller bottles with fun designs and easier closures; for athletes and outdoor adventurers, lightweight polypropylene bottles have been developed that are completely free of harmful substances such as BPA or phthalates. In the thermos category, SIGG has also expanded its Hot & Cold collections with various stainless steel and even glass options.
A Wide Selection of Water Bottles in Various Sizes
SIGG water bottles are available in a wide range of sizes: from small 0.3 L and 0.4 L bottles for children, to medium-sized options in 0.5 L and 0.6 L, through to drinking and thermal bottles in 0.75 L, 1 L and 1.5 L. The 1 litre water bottles are particularly popular.
The Right Accessories Complete Every Water Bottle
Further reflecting SIGG's commitment to sustainability, the Swiss company offers a variety of caps and closures for its bottles, turning a single bottle into a versatile companion across many situations. The accessories range also includes neoprene sleeves to protect the bottles, small loops to secure the cap to the bottle, various attachments and handles for children, as well as suitable cleaning accessories.
