Are SIGG bottles microwave-safe?
Do not place the bottles in the microwave, on a hot stovetop, in a hot oven, or in the freezer.
Can hot water be poured into an aluminum bottle?
Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat. This means that the temperature of the liquid inside the bottle can be felt on the outside as well. We therefore recommend filling the bottle with water at a temperature of no more than 40°C.
What kinds of liquids can I store in SIGG water bottles?
All SIGG water bottles have been tested with many different types of beverages, such as acidic drinks, carbonated drinks, milk, alcohol, apple juice, and lemon juice, etc. However, we do not recommend leaving beverages that undergo natural fermentation processes, such as apple juice or milk, in the bottle for extended periods of time. This natural process can promote bacterial growth and produce gases and strong odors that are difficult to eliminate.
Are the water bottles leak-proof?
All SIGG caps are watertight. However, caps and seals are subject to normal wear and tear from heavy use. We recommend not washing the bottle cap in the dishwasher; instead, remove it, rinse it with hot water, and let it air dry. It is also often helpful to replace the bottle gasket whenever possible. This is available as a replacement part from retailers and in our online store.
What is the best way to clean aluminum, glass, and plastic bottles?
For aluminum bottles: Use cleaning tablets or a mild detergent; do not put them in the dishwasher.
For glass bottles: Hand wash only; do not use chlorine or bleach; use soft cloths or sponges.
For plastic (e.g., Tritan, polypropylene): Although some are dishwasher-safe, hand washing with a mild detergent is recommended to avoid damaging the print ink, etc.
